Win the Chance to Replace that Disgraceful Old TV, Computer or Cooker in the Comet £4,500 Free Competition

May 08, 2009 - Press Dispensary - Leading electrical specialist retailer, Comet, is launching its 'Replace This Disgrace' online competition at http://www.replacethisdisgrace.com to find the most outdated and 'disgraceful' electrical items still being used today in the UK.

'Replace This Disgrace' is a free to enter contest that invites anyone in the UK to make and submit a funny video of their disgraceful items - for example, an old and embarrassing TV, video recorder (Betamax anyone?) or "ice age" freezer - explaining why they feel shamed by it.

The video entries will then receive votes from the public, with one winner emerging in each of the three categories of shame - 'Home Entertainment', 'Computer Equipment' and 'Kitchen Appliances' - so the options for shockingly out-of-date gear are diverse.

The competition is designed to have wide appeal: even the "technology gods" out there could take the opportunity to persuade their "luddite" friends or family to enter the 21st century.

To enter, participants should follow these three simple steps:

1. Choose the ‘disgraceful’ electrical product.
2. Make a short video explaining why the item is so bad.
3. Upload the video to YouTube UK and submit the link to the 'Replace This Disgrace' website.

Easy to follow instructions are on the site, including a simple ‘walk through’ video to help everyone take their chance to enter.

The competition is open to UK residents only. All entries must contain ‘family friendly’ content, and entrants can submit as many videos in as many categories as they wish.

Once a video entry has been uploaded, voting on it will open. The entry that has accumulated the most votes in each category by the closing date of midnight on July 31, 2009, will win the prize. 'Replace This Disgrace' will send all entrants who submit videos ideas on how to "campaign" to win more votes, while the 'Replace This Disgrace' Facebook fan site will provide advice on making a video, uploading the content and campaigning for votes.

All entries must be received by the closing date to be included in the competition. Obviously, the sooner a video is entered, the sooner it can start winning votes. Voting takes place on http://www.replacethisdisgrace.com . There's no need to register to start voting, and all voting is free of charge.

The prizes for each category are £1,500 worth of electrical equipment chosen by the winners. Their disgraceful old items will be removed by Comet installation services and recycled, giving these old dinosaurs the end they fittingly deserve!

For more information or to enter, please visit http://www.replacethisdisgrace.com

Following the latest competition entries will be easy on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/replacedisgrace

The Facebook discussion board and fan page for those making videos and campaigning for votes is at: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Replace-This-Disgrace/76772466383

Additional competition information:

No purchase necessary to enter the competition.

A user can enter as many videos as they like in any of the three categories. All entries must be "clean" – anything that isn’t suitable for family viewing will not be published. All valid entries will be automatically included in the competition as long as they meet the entry requirements.

Comet will try to ensure that all valid entries are included in the voting but does not accept liability for entries lost or delayed because of computer system issues.

Any entries that do not have a correct email address will not be eligible to win a prize.

Winners will be those who have submitted the video that receives the most votes in each of the three categories.

Comet’s decision is final and no other correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome of the competition.

The winners will be notified by email or telephone on 14 August, 2009.

The prize in each of the three categories consists of the winner’s choice of products, as available on the Comet website or in Comet stores on 14 August, 2009, up to the value of £1,500. Subject to availability. The winners will also receive free delivery, installation and set up of their chosen prizes.

Prizes are non transferrable and no cash alternative will be offered. Gift cards, iTunes vouchers or mobile phone top ups will be excluded from the prize.

This competition is closed to employees of Comet Group Plc, who remain in Comet’s employment at the time of the winner being decided.

Bonsai Trees to Bulgaria earns entrepreneur over GBP 100,000 a Month

Closely guarded secrets revealed at Internet Newbies Workshop…

March 13, 2009 - Press Dispensary - The 'Internet Newbies Workshop' - a weekend conference to help budding internet business entrepreneurs beat the recession by earning extra income - takes place on 21 and 22 March, 2009, at the Novotel Hotel, Heathrow, London. The event is ideal for those recently made redundant or whose jobs are less secure, providing an intensive, hands-on tutorial to kick-start novice online businesses.

Experts presenting the workshop include Simon Coulson, an ex-BT employee and founder of Internet Business School and Business Opportunity Review. He will be divulging the secrets of his meteoric rise to internet fame and fortune gained from over 150 websites selling information products – most of which run on autopilot and earn over £2million per year. His products range from Bonsai Tree Growing to Bulgarian Property Buying and can all be delivered digitally and automatically.

The internet may not be rocket science but it helps to have a rocket scientist on hand! Physicist and internet expert, Dr David Kyte, will share some of the secrets he learned behind closed doors with the world's top eight internet marketers.

Expert web designers, Peter Burnett and Daren Pledger, will demonstrate the various web design and ecommerce approaches to setting up a home-based business. Internet coach and NLP trainer, Mark Curtis-Wood, will brief delegates on how to create passive income without a website or a product of their own.

The workshop is organised by eConfex, a company focusing on entrepreneurial events. Owner, Steve Foley, comments: "Massive changes are taking place on the internet, especially in TV-for-web and social networking, which are creating new business opportunities. The 'Internet Newbies Workshop' will give delegates the opportunity to ‘hit the ground running’ with their new online businesses using the very latest tools and technology. In addition to prospective entrepreneurs, the 'Internet Newbies Workshop' is ideal for people who have recently been made redundant and also for silver-surfers looking to enhance their pensions."

ZyLAB Collaborates with EDRM Founder George Socha on Whitepaper “Bringing E-Discovery In-House: Risks and Rewards”

February 24, 2009 - Press Dispensary - ZyLAB, a developer of information access applications, today announces the availability of a free whitepaper focusing on the benefits of bringing e-discovery in-house. This paper, developed in collaboration with George Socha, founder of Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), provides a straightforward, pragmatic overview of how legal professionals and organisations must be able to interpret e-discovery within the context of actual expected processes, inherent risks and the available technologies that can support relevant activities.

Given the litigious nature of the marketplace and the disclosure and transparency responsibilities facing most organisations, any responsible person at the frontline of their business should be well-versed about what e-discovery actually is and how it's conducted in a legal environment. Chapter 2 of the whitepaper - which can be downloaded from http://www.zylab.com/trans/ediscoveryinhouse.html - offers a detailed situational overview.

Organisations are desperate to find ways to regain control of their internal processes in general – and e-discovery in particular – and to minimise their costs and level of risk. A first step for organisations is to gain clarity about the issues inherent in e-discovery. Chapter 3 of this paper provides an in-depth look at the key cost and risk-related issues that can compromise the effective execution of e-discovery processes.

After spelling out the basic risk and cost components of e-discovery, Chapter 4 follows with some best practice approaches to remedying the most relevant e-discovery-related challenges. First and foremost, any effective e-discovery application must have some reference point from which the expectations and recognised process components that need to be engaged can be understood. This reference point is the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), which is widely acknowledged as the standard for structuring e-discovery activities.

Chapter 4 also provides some 'nuts-and-bolts' information about the reasoning and tools that must be in place to ensure the components of any e-discovery process are interpreted in the most appropriate and effective manner.

When it comes to tools, it’s not just a question of having the right search engine in place. High quality search and a detailed working framework are the solid foundation on which to conduct e-discovery activities. However, the complexity of e-discovery requires a nimble and comprehensive set of tools to support all aspects of the process. Appendix A provides an overview of one of the most highly regarded applications on the market, ZyLAB’s ZyIMAGE eDiscovery Platform, which bundles a powerful, specialised search tool with a technology suite, fully documented best practice methodology and working instructions.

Dr. Johannes Scholtes, chairman of ZyLAB UK Ltd and head of ZyLAB’s global operations, comments: "In this whitepaper, the rewards and also risks of bringing e-discovery in-house are addressed and a strategy is presented to realise in-house e-discovery. For many companies, discovery means high cost without assurances of high levels of accuracy and efficiency. Most organisations don't have an overriding concept or supporting structure in place to define and manage relevant information that could be vital to their defence during litigation proceedings. This whitepaper offers a primer on how to address this important issue.”
